My wife has always told me that I take good photographs, but like all good, confused husbands I did not quite know what to make of it. When friends who are knowledgeable about photography began echoing the same thoughts, I began to take a hard look at what I had done. The idea of a ‘One Man Show’ slowly began to take shape.Nature fascinates me. God has made a wonderful world which we some times forget to notice in our daily grind in a stressful, urban, competitive environment. Landscapes in their splendid isolation are a constant theme that runs right through my pictures.
The combination of human endeavour and technology has produced many marvels from the ancient ruins in Rome to the mediaeval Taj Mahal and not so old Eiffel Tower. These fascinate me as much as modern buildings and cities created by today’s architects. I find nothing contradictory between pictures of crumbling monuments side by side with those of modern city scapes.
Photography as a hobby has been a constant source of joy and pleasure to me and has provided many hours of intimacy and warmth shared with my family and friends. My photographs are among my most treasured possessions.
